The Call of the Wild by Jack London read book description and reviews

Living the lazy and luxurious life of a pet, Buck could not know that gold was discovered in Alaska, nor that this discovery would forever change his life. Stolen from his master and sold for a quick profit, Buck is shipped up to the Arctic to live among the hardened ranks of the sled dogs, led by the short-tempered and violent alpha Spitz. Fighting to survive against an unforgiving climate and pack rivalries, Buck slowly leaves his domesticated life behind and embraces the wild.

This is book was very out of order and very confusing, I am doing a book report on this, i had to read it twice at the last minute. (Not literally) A bit sad though

  • Hail, Buck, King of Wolves!

This book left me speechless, and quite literally. The writing, plot, and characters made for a rich story. I think the pinnacle of the story was Buck's evolution from simple house dog, to a dog, feared by the natives. But would be a glorious sight, a King of Wolves.

    Stunning and dramatic
  • Overlooked, but a classic nonetheless!

A timeless classic that tells, without a flit of exaggeration, of the power of a dog's instinct, it's closeness to rational thought, and the depth of their feelings.
